Looking for Advice/Help

About two months ago, i was in a pub environment and end up going home with a girl (she was 21). After a few hours, this girl wanted to have sex but i refused since we didnt have a condom. She just gave me oral sex and went back to bed and kept telling me that she had been tested and everything was fine. In the morning we enrolled in some foreplay which included me rubbing my penis around the opening of her vagina then went out to buy a condom and had sex. I understand the risks associated with oral are almost negligible but what really scares me is the rubbing my penis in the opening of her vagina (i am 99% sure it never penetrated cause i was nervous/soft).

One day, i got really scared and started thinking i had acquired HIV from this girl. After that it has all been downhill. Two weeks after the encounter i started getting a lot of GERD and a very tight throat/dry mouth. Any greasy food i ate would literally burn my throat, other food was fine (which i thought was strange). I also had random armpit pains on one of my arms which was very weird. They would come and go. I went to get tested at 15 (nonreactive) days and the doctor said it was too early but i insisted anyways. The "screening assay used is (Abbott Architect HIV) that detects BOTH an HIV antigen". That same week i got tested for all other STI's inc HIV ab/ag which cameback non-reactive.

These are the symptoms that scare me:
At 5 weeks post exposure, nearing the end of the 5th week i started to feel nauseated and weak. The nausea left but the weakness has persisted ever since (on and off which is very strange). Some days i feel great and others i feel really crappy (weakness in legs and just feel like i am sick). Almost like i am going to faint when i am on my feet. When i force myself to exercise my legs burn. Like barely doing anything... I also started getting random armpit pains again (no swollen lymph nodes). This time in both of my arms.

Weakness is not a manifestation of the ARS.

A 21 day 4th generation test is storn evidence that you did not get HIV however these tests are not conclusive until 4 weeks following an exposure. EWH

One more question Doctor Edward,

Would my weakness be correlated at all with hiv ars (or can my subconscious trigger stress?), i know it is difficult to speculate over the internet? Also is a 21 day 4th generation test a good indication of my status?

Thank you Doctor,

Welcome to the Forum.  I hope I can help relieve your anxiety.  There is no meaningful risk for HIV from the events you describe.  There are no cases of HIV associated with receipt of oral sex or frottage (genital rubbing as you describe) without penetration.  Further, the symptoms of early HIV infection are due to the interaction of newly formed antibodies with virus circulating in the blood so if the symptoms you have described we due to HIV, your 21 day test certainly would have been positive.  You should take that your 21 day 4th generation test was clear proof that your symptoms were not due to HIV.

My sincere advice is to not worry further about the exposure you have described.  EWH
