On Friday night / Saturday morning I went to a nightclub in London, England. The club had a swimming pool and hot tub in it that I went into. I don't think they were very clean and there was a lot of people in there. I also noticed that I cut my toe when I was in there and have a excma like rash on my hands. which has left small non bleeding cuts on my hands
Could I have caught anything from going into the pool and / or hot tub? Should I get tested and / or get PEP?
HIV is not transmitted through the environment in any way. Nobody in the world ever caught the virus from using a hot tub, with or without eczema or skin wounds exposed to the water -- no matter how unclean the water may appear to be, or whether it was recently used by an HIV infected person. You shouldn't be at all worried and should not be tested. And of course you shouldn't have PEP -- and you couldn't find any reputable health provider who would be willing to prescribe it.
The only things you need do in order to avoid catching HIV is avoid unprotected penetration of penis into vagina or rectum and avoid sharing drug injection equipment with other people.
