help me understand my report

Dear Dr,
Please help me understand my report
I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and along with my other other blood reports I also received my HIV-elisa test report, the test was done after 45 days of possible exposure,
the report says -NEGATIVE but also shows test value :0.017 and a cut off value of 0.248.
do they mention these ratios in all reports or is it because of  a possibility that i need to take the test again.
I do not know the generation of the test, it was taken in India .My urine report showed a urinary tract infection could this alter the value of the hiv test report.
Why is the test value mentioned in the report ?Is This test conclusive?
Thanks for your help

Results of ELISA tests are report out as optical densities and are interpreted in comparison to a positive control value that is run at the same time.  In your case, the optical density of your specimen was far, far below the OD of the positive control.  this means that your test is negative and that no HIV antibodies were detected.  This would not be changed by the presence of a urinary tract infection.

Believe your test results.  A negative test at 6 weeks is strong evidence that you do not have HIV.  It would be detected to diagnose over 98% of HIV infections acquired 6 weeks earlier.  Hope this helps.  EWH
