Glad we could help. Stay safe. EWH
Ok I got my results late yesterday and it was negative.
I want to let you all know that I woke up this morning feeling like a new person. The mind is a very powerful thing. When I was sure I had hiv I felt very sick and had a lot of symptoms but as soon as I got the news that my test was negative it was like a whole new me. I don't feel sick anymore and I am full of energy.
I want to share with you because I think a lot of us make ourselfs sick by worring too much.
Thank you Dr for the support I got from you.
I'm at the clinic as I write this and I am very scared. I will keep you posted..pls pray for me :)
Wonderful. Glad we could help. EWH
Thank you...I just called my doctor and made an appointment for this afternoon to get tested. I will post my results when I get them.
No, while we never say never, it would be virtually unheard of for symptoms of early HIV to come and go. EWH
Thank you doctor but one more question.
Can symptoms of hiv come and go for 8 months after possible infection. I think I was sick once a month for the first 3 months after the episode then it went away for a month or so but it has come back like 5 times in the past 5 months
Welcome to our Forum. I agree with the advice you have already received on the HIV Prevention Community site. You have little to worry about.
First, your partner is unlikely to have HIV. Few heterosexual (less than 1 in 10,000) heterosexual women are infected.
Second, HIV is not transmitted by giving or receiving oral sex, even if you have a sore or cut on your penis an even if your partner has blood in her mouth, gum disease, mouth sores etc. There are no convincing reports of HIV being transmitted through oral sex. Please do not worry.
As far as your brief, POSSIBLE penetration, this too is low risk. At most HIV is transmitted from infected to uninfected persons only once in every 1000 exposures, on average and your exposure was lower risk than most because of its brevity.
My guess is that your recent upper respiratory tract infections are coincidence and nothing more. If you are truly worried, get tested- I am confident your tests would be negative and, in my opinion, you really do not need testing related to the exposures you mention. EWH
