kissing

Dear doctor,

I do hope you can help me ease my fears. I am currently married but have been having problems. I go have a female friend that I have gotten close to. We have had sex except for a night that we kissed. We stopped as we knew it was wrong I guess we got caught in the moment but know our limitations.

I am worried now because I have a tooth basically one of my molars cracked and the cap fell of the tooth is still covering the gum but the outer tooth covering is gone since I cracked the cap. I was wondering the if i should be worried I know my gum is not bleeding there no wound except that since the tooth is expose every time I chew on the tooth the gum gets irritated.

1) do i need to  worry about getting Hiv or anything else?
2) Do i need testing I tested before and Im fine I havent cheated on my wife
3) dry lips that cracked aliitle bit that may have bled can I get hiv like this?

Im going insane perhaps since I am also guilty but can I move on and not worry. I want my marriage to work since we have been together for only a year and plan to get married.

Thank you

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be pleased to provide you with the assurance that you seek.  First, unless there is something you have  not mentioned, it is unlikely that you friend has HIV or any other STD.  Even if she did however, HIV has never been transmitted to another person through kissing, even with deep (French) kissing, cracked lips, dental or gum disease or sores in the mouth- not ever.  The same is true for other STDs,

You have no reason to worry and no need to test.  Please don't worry.  EWH
