Glad to help. take care. EWH
Thank for your comments and advise. Your words have eased some of my anxiety, for now. But I will know for sure in a few days. I do not want to experience this whole situation (positive sti) ever again nor the anxiety and fear that follows about many other related aspects. thanks again for taking the time for me and for many others.
You do not need testing for other STDs. The common STDs would have yielded positve results by now. As far as further testing is concnerned, virtually all HIV infections are currently detectable at 8 weeks so you do not need to wait for three months. And yes, the tests used in Canada are the same as well use here in the U.S. EWH
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question and probably my over obsessive thinking that I had put myself at a higher risk with that encounter because I contract one sti. I should know my results in a few days, still very anxious about getting them.
I still have my concerns and a very heavy weight on shoulders for this, but I will try to keep that anxiety in check after readying your comments.
I may get a final test for all sti's and std's at 3 months to help simply with the anxiety I have from this whole ordeal. Or is the hiv test the whole one that has a 3 month window period?
Btw, I will in canada. Do the tests vary from the US?

Welcome to our Forum. Your risk for HIV from the exposure you describe is very low. Let me try to put things into perspective.
I understand that having gotten chlamydia it is natural to wonder what else might have been acquired but chlamydia is much, much more common than HIV. The likelihood that your got HIV is mathematically less than 1 in 5 million. I come to that figure by pointing out that the chance that your partner had HIV is less than 1 in 10,000 if he does not use drugs or have sex with other men. Then, even if he had HIV, after two episodes of intercourse, your risk for HIV would still be less than 1 in 500 (risk is less than 1 in 1000 for each act).
I predict that your 7 week test will be negative. Since at 7 weeks a standard HIV test will detect over 95% of recently acquired HIV infections, the negative result that I am confident that you will get is further, very strong evidence that you did not get HIV.
I would not worry about your symptoms. These are non-specific.
Try not to worry. EWH
Just wanted to add that at no point did he ejaculate inside.
