discordant ex wife remains negative

I hope Im at the right place. My ex wife of eight years has never tested positive. We also have two beautiful daughters who are negative. When I met her I already knew my status. I eventually told her and she accepted me and didnt want to use condoms. My question is could she in fact be positive although still getting a negative result on a rapid test?

I found out in 1999 and I have had several Elisa,Western Blot, CD4 count and viral load tests. All positive. My CD4 count has hovered from 420 to almost 900 and now to 274. My doc wants me to start meds urgently. But my ex and I never used condoms since I met her in 2004 and she has never ever tested positive. As a result I started reading dissident/denialist information and was convinced by their argument. But I have to look after myself now. I am just confused by all this inconsistancy.

There is no way we can answer this.  The fact is, not every episode of unprotected sex with a + partner leads to infection, I can't explain why all of those years would not end up with her infected.  

A question better suited for your ID doctor, and being that she is your EX wife, why are you even concerning yourself with it?

Well actually the question really is AM I Hiv positive? I have read extensively on the dissidents views and this situation makes me think that they may be onto something. I dont want to be stupid and just believe everything I read but no-one has ever been able to explain this to me. Im from South Africa, I just thought someone somewhere else in the world may have a clue to what is really going on here. The thing is my doc said 8yrs ago when she got pregnant that she will eventually test positive. Then we had our second daughter and doc said "well if you carry on not using protection she will become positive." And in eight years she never did! This wasnt an episode. We had sex maybe an average of four times a week. Without condoms.

You already posted that you had confirmation tests done to prove that you are pos.  Who knows, maybe she is lying, maybe she is positive, or hasn't tested?  If that's the case, I would be very worried for your children.

This is a question that is outside the scope of this forum.  We give risk assessments.  

Again, if you are concerned, take it up with your ID doctor.

It seems Im in the wrong forum. Where can I go then to ask this question? But I would like to assure you all that my kids and my ex ARE DEFINATELY NEGATIVE. My doc cannot explain. I have asked dozens of experts. All they said was "she will eventually test positive". But SHE HAS NEVER in 8 years!

I was in denial. I believed what the Perth Group says about the (non)existence of Hiv. There were too many unanswered questions. The only people even slightly willing to answer any of my questions were the denialists. I no longer support their viewpount because I see the holes in their argument now. But just like the Church back in the day, you and Teak and other "experts" want to burn everyone who asks you difficult questions at the stake. No wonder the conspiracy theorists have a field day with you guys. You can't answer simple questions. Why don't you and Teak tell me about CCR5 delta 32. Why?

Hi brendan.id like 2 say my partner who iv bin wwiv 4 2 years now is also positive.i luckily av neva caught it n we r pregnant also.iv ad plenty ov tests n always the same result.iv bin told that it can b down 2 u takin ur medication properly which lowers it in ur blood n that makes it harder 2 pass on. I think thats a good thing tho.n well done 4 being so honest about it x
