Cvid, hiv PCR RNA testing (followup)

Dr

I recently wrote in and you responded, thanks.

A brief summary;

I am male and was raped in feb 2011.  I was given pep and tested via PCR RNA while on 4 days of pep, negative.  After finishing pep i was tested via antibody tests every three months.  This continued up until last week.  Always negative.

The only other risks i had was receiving oral with a condom in september 2011

And

Fingering a girl with a little nick on my hand in Feb 2012. (she tested negative via antibody test last week which was nine weeks after hookup, so did I)

The problem is i am having chronic sinus infections since dec 2011.

So here is the question;
My immunologist checked my igg iga and igm and all was normal.  He continues to try and see if i have immune sustem issues.

Since i continued to worry my infectious disease Dr ordered an HIV PCR RNA test.  The results were undetectable / negative. (quest labs)

Dr said this was definitive covering all of the risks i mentioned above.  The most recent was in feb 2012.  She said no more tests are needed.  She said this test was indepedent from relying on antibody response.  She said this test is totally accurate at 2 weeks post exposure and definitely accurate at 9 weeks post exposure.

Do you agree regarding the HIV PCR RNA accuracy at the interval i took it? (9 weeks post exposure)

Can i truly move on and sleep with my wife safely?

Thanks so much!!!

1.The PCR RNA HIV test I had would cover even my most recent risk 9 weeks prior to blood draw correct?

Hello,
Thank you for your new post.
I totally agree with your doctor.  Your negative test result is final and fully conclusive.  You are definitely HIV negative without any doubt.
You need to try to move on and forget about it.
Best wishes,
Dr José

At your suggestion (in an earlier post from me) you suggested either a p24 antigen or a PCR RNA test to rule out HIV infection and put my mind at ease. My infectious disease Dr selected the PCR RNA test.  Fortunately it was undetectable!!

Blood was drawn 9 weeks after most recent risk. (two days earlier i had a negative antibody)

ID dr said no worries move on!
