HIV Risk

Hi Doctor,

Thanks for your time in replying my question. I wish to get an assessment of the HIV risk that I'm exposed to.

The incident happened around 3 weeks ago.

I went to a massage parlor in Hong Kong, one that does not provide sex, but other hanky panky stuff.

I had a massage and the masseuse stripped naked and started masturbating me. I fingered her for about 5 secs and stopped at her request. She then lied on top of me and used her abdomen to rub against my penis. (Pretty sure my penis did not come into contact with her vaginal because 1. Saw her getting up and my penis was at her abdomen area, 2. I talked about have sex, and she started telling me about the risk of contracting HIV/STD)

After I ejaculated, we washed up, and she put her clothes back on. She then gave me a head massage. But I think she was using too much force, and the friction between her fingers, my hair and my scalp caused an area to become reddened and swollen. I dont think there were any blood, but when I touched it, there was some clear liquid.

About 9 days after that episode, I developed a sore throat that went away in a day. About 2 weeks after that episode, the sore throat came back. Throughout this period of time, I was feeling malaise and not well. Went to the doctor and he told me it was bacteria infection as my vocal cord was affected as well. Gave me some antibiotics and the sore throat went away in a day.

Now 3 weeks after that episode, I am having very severe diarrhea, and it has led to my temperature spiking to above 101F, and I'm also having episodes of vomiting. Felt better after taking meds from the doctor.

Please advise on my risk level and if I should be getting a HIV test.

Thanks for your time once again.

Hello

Thank you for contributing to the Forum. I haven't heard the phrase "hank-panky" in years so thank you for that also.

You are not at risk of HIV at all.

Your comment "I have never had unprotected sex. I have never even had sex with someone whom I'm not in a relationship with" is absolutely key and the fact that you do not have unprotected sex means that you will not acquire HIV.

best regards, Sean

Thank you for your expert opinion. I can finally put it behind me, move on and not read so much into me falling sick recently.

Thanks.

Just to add on I dont have any body rash at all. And the fever and sore throat (the sore throat also led to a serious cough) both happened at different times. I suspect the diarrhea was caused by food poisoning as I my stomach felt weird after having dinner, and the diarrhea came the next day, followed by the fever.

I have never had unprotected sex. I have never even had sex with someone whom I'm not in a relationship with.

This is causing considerable anxiety in me. Please advise on the risk level I'm exposed to.

Thanks.
