Hiv window period

I had have a m2m sex with my five years partner ,who is married, on 20 october2013. I had sore neck and body aches for few days, and doctor asked me for HIV test which happened on 7 December. Result was negative and was after about 7 weeks (7 dec). I have been worrying since then and spoke to my partner and he said he was checked nearly same time and was negative. I was bottom and he was top. Should I go for further testing or consider my last one as conclusive test. Please help me, and sex was unprotected. I have been stressing a lot, and have exams soon. Just can not concentrate. I have been going through internet and some say 6 week test is enough if it is antigen/antibody test. On the other hand people talking abt 3 or 6 months period to be certain. Totally confused. My teat was combo test. Am I on high risk.  Please advise.

Hello

Thank you very much for your post.

Your HIV test was a 4th generation HIV test using antibody and antigen and will give a very accurate result from 4 weeks after exposure. Accuracy at that time will be greater than 99.89%. At six weeks a straightforward antibody alone 3rd generation HIV test will give you greater than 995 certainty.

I am sure that you are HIV negative.

I would though consider testing for syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhoea from rectal swabs and a blood test.

kind regards, Sean

On my report it says antibody/antigen combo(serum) test
By Siemens centaur hiv-1/hiv-2
Please note/: method changed to Siemens centaur effective 30/9/13

I thought that might put more light on my report
