Very scared of HIV risk

Dear Sir,

I recently made a massive mistake which I am so scared about. Working away in Thailand I went to Bankok and went to a massage parlour.

I had the following

a standard massage
a bj with condom
uncovered handjob
a finger up the bum (30 secs)

I am pretty sure that the finger up bum was with a condom but i now cant be 100% (she tried this a second time and touched my bum which i said no)

That night i threw up and had a bit of diarrea. In the next couple of days I had upset tummy and some sweating at night for about 4 days. After about 12 days I had a bit of white toungue and a kind of red patch with a couple of spots. Ive also had a slightly phlemgy throat.

It must be said that I suffer from extreme anxiety and havent really slept that well over the whole of this period which adds to the worry and constantly looking for sypmtoms.

Ive been to doctors and have had a full suite of urine and blood tests. I am freaking out and am so scared. On previous posts you have said that there is no risk from finger up the bum but other web sites say this is a risk. It may be my toungue is just a result of my severe anxiety and guilt about this. I am so scared about result and some of my symtoms is there any advice you can give on this matter ?

Many thanks in advance from a very silly and scared man.

Sean,

appreciate the replies and realise that a lot of replies are comments from people who are very scared like me. The reason why ive found it diificult is that i have had 5 days of a temperature and my glands under my chin have been sore. Ive convinced myself that its something terrible.

I also realise that this is not a counselling website but one of question and answer. I am left with a choice then to believe that i have something innocent or to get tested now its over 4 weeks.

Thanks for your answers and the great work you are doing.

All the actions you describe are innocent and will not result in becoming HIV positive. The finger "up the bum" is irrelevant and will definitely not give you HIV.

Thankyou Dr for your words.

I have had the results back from the (western blot) test which was done about ten days after incident everything was fine. Since then ive had a sore throat with some ulcers/spots (red & white) at the abak of my throat and have been really tired.

One thing I forgot to mention was I had a 2 day old cut on finger which touched the outside of the vagina for not more than 2 secs around the clitoros area. I did not enter her with fingers and can remember it being very dry. I did not get as far as i am aware any fluids of any kind on my finger and thinking about it not sure if the cut finger was even the one that touched her.

I really want to put this behind me which I thought I had but because of throat ulcers its caused me to be frightened again. I believe that what I have done is of zero or neglible risk and that my symptoms are probably innocent.

Could you review what I have provided here and comment about my risk. I want to move on and put this behind me know and stop the worrying especially if I havent been at risk.

Many thanks for yor time and appreciate the excellent work you do on here.

Hello

Your assessment of this scenario is absolutely spot on.

You are upset and anxious about it and have turned it into something completely out of proportion in your head.

All the actions you describe are innocent and will not result in becoming HIV positive. The finger "up the bum" is irrelevant and will definitely not give you HIV.

Now, relax and put all this aside. You have not picked up HIV.

very best regards, Sean
