By having unprotected sex with your female friend you put yourself at risk to to get other STIs (other then HIV). If your friend have some STIs (such as gonorrhea or chlamydia) then you put your girlfriend at risk too by having unprotected sex wih her.
Regarding HIV, HCV and HBV you are OK, but make sure to make testings for other SPIs.
Bacterial infections are far more common and spread more easily than viral infections. I think this is why the doctor recommended Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea tests. I think your hep C test was unnecessary because it is mostly a blood disease. You may want to get a hep B vaccine so you won’t have to worry about that.
Dr Jose, hope you can read this soon, as I still have that negative feeling on my mind! Should I take any other test? What about the question that I asked about my GF
Dr Jose, thank you fot answer my question, yes I did have sex with my GF after the may 28 exposure so that affect the test? Should I count 7 weeks since the last time that I was with her or the 7 weeks test after the may 28 is just fine? However i did a hepatitis b and c as well as a VDRL all came out negative!
Hello,
Thank you very much for your post and welcome to our forum. Your English is absolutely fine. I will not answer in Spanish as this is a forum in English, mainly for the benefit of other readers. I did not understand your question regarding your girlfriend. Have you had unprotected sex with your girlfriend since you had sex with your other friend on May 28? Becuase if that had been the case, you woudl have put your girlfriend at risk of possibly contracting an STD. The negative HIV test that you had is fully conclusive and that definitely confirms that you are negative. No need to worry about HIV. However my advice to you is to make sure that you have not contracted any other sexually transmitted infections. Therefore I would suggest that you get checked with a full STD screening including Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea, as they arte common, easy to transmit and would not always cause symptoms.
Best wishes,
Dr José
