Hi Dr Sean,
The other week I posted a question to you:
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV---International/Serious-HIV-exposure-Currently-on-PEP/show/1505110?camp=watch_list
- From your reply in the original question I asked & that of another reputable forum it reduced my anxiety considerably. Unfortunately my anxiety levels have shot back up again after i noticed a swollen lymph node on the right hand side of my neck. It is also visually noticeable in the mirror.
I THINK/HOPE this is related to an insect bite just above the swollen lymph node (near the bottom of my earlobe). But since I've never had a swollen lymph node like tjhis (this sore & big) it is worrying to say they least. Especially since it coincides exactly at the 2 1/2 week interval of Post Exposure. My question here is, usually if someone exhibits swollen lymph nodes when there seroconverting, would it usually be more than just ONE? My doctor examined me to see if there were any other swollen lymph nodes. There are not.
- Reading many other excellent responses you have given for others I noticed that you have stated on a few occasions from experience at your clinic that if someone is negative on a DUO test straight after PEP they have stayed negative on folllowup tests. Has that been still the case?

- You recommended at 2 weeks post PEP to undertake a Duo test plus or Minus a RNA PCR test.. My understanding was that the Proviral DNA PCR test was more beneficial for detection. Was also told this by a clinic specializing in HIV in Australia
Once again thankyou for your time.
