8 week negative INSTI..

Hello Doctor. I have made regular posts (unfortunately) on this site in the last 2 years, and have received great information and support each time.
I have recently committed to barring all sexual activity with other men until I feel stable and secure, and am being treated for my anxiety - and it is all really helping.
Having said that, there was a situation around 2 months ago that made me scared of contracting HIV..
A "friend" of mine and his boyfriend took advantage of me when I was drunk, and I really don't remember what happened between us, but I remember some anal play. I have asked them, but I don't trust them at all.
SO, my worst case possible scenario is that I engaged in unprotected receptive anal sex.
I am trying to rule this out as best as possible, so I went for an INSTI-hiv test at exactly 56 days after.
The result was negative, I tried searching this forum but kept finding old posts from a few year back.
Can I rule out HIV from my negative test?

I am so sorry, I promise I won't reply again. I've just noticed some discrepancies in the window period and testing times..
8 weeks is definitely enough time, even after unprotected receptive anal sex as could be my case?

Your question is a bit silly. Yes, you are negative and do not have HIV. therefore you do not need to test further.

This will end this thread. Take care and enjoy your holidays.  EWH

Is it fair to say that I am HIV negative?

No need for further testing as long as it has been 8 weeks or more since your exposure.  You di dnot get HIV. EWH

Sorry, so just to clarify, even if I had unprotected sex, I tested negative at 8 weeks - and I don't need to worry/test again? Everything is fine, even in worst case?
Thanks for your patience.

Correct, even if you were exposed, your test proves you were not infected., EWH

Thank you so much for your reply.
So even if I had unprotected sex with one of these guys, I can still trust my test results?

Yes, the INSTI tests are quite accurate and if you have a negative test 56 days after your last exposure, you can be confident that you were not infected, even if your friends did take advantage of you.  No need for further testing or concern reagaridng the events you describe.

Take care.  EWH
