Clothing pin pricked

Hi,dr. Last night,I went shopping for an overcoat for my kid, while I was in the shop ,I found a cute overcoat, I touched and felt it,but suddenly I felt pain in my hand,it was the clothing pin in front of the clothes that pricked my finger,I didn't find any tiny wound,so I fail to press the wound, and there is no blood ,either.but i am quite sure I was pricked by the pin, when went back home I use alcohol to clean my hand, I didn't feel the pain, and I looked carefully for the wound this morning,i found a very very tiny red spot,I still not sure if it was caused last night.since it was weekend there were a lot of people in the shopping center , I am not sure if it prick anyone seconds before me and if someone was pricked shortly before I was pricked(less than 5second)and he/she was HIV positive, will I have the risk of getting HIV this way? Is there anyone around the world who got HIV in this case? I am really freaking out! Help me dr.

There is no need to repeat your question.  Yes I mean there is no risk even if you were pricked immediately after someone who have HIV was pricked.  EWH

Dr. You mean I have no risk even if I was pricked immediately after the one who was pricked by the same pin who was HIV positive? Right?

Welcome to our Forum.  I hope that I can calm your fears.  The events you describe carry no known risk for HIV.  The likelihood that whatever you stuck yourself on was contaminated with HIV infected blood is virtually non-existent.  Even if it were,. the HIV would not survive even brief exposure to the air and environment.  We get many questions of this sort, describing inadvertent wounds from wires, pins, scrapes, etc. yet there has NEVER been a case of HIV acquired through the sort of exposure you describe.  There is absolutely no reason for concern and no reason for testing of any sort.  I hope this comment is helpful.  EWH
