Any possibilities to extend window period

Hi doctor,

I am was so irrational about being stabbed by the partner who jerk off with me.

Previously I thought as long as I go to test, it will be fine three months later. But last night suddenly a irrational and terrible thoughts came to my mind, that is, WHAT IF the guy who jerked off with me produced the HIV VIRUS can effect or delay the seroconversion  so that can put window period to like one year later, or three year later, that means I may not receive peace of mind all the time. Once I realized it, I knew it was a super horrible thoughts.

So now I would like to ask you that could you explain this issue from medical angle to convince me that the window period only stops around three or six months, but it can't take unpredictable time period.

I do need help, since this thoughts invades me, I barely sleep, I think it can make me feel rational from the medical perspective.

This is gobbledygook -- I don't know what you're driving at.  As best I can tell, you're asking me the scientific reasons that something that cannot happen might happen anyway.  I will not play such a silly game.  This thread is over; any further comments will be deleted.

What I want to know if that :

What if he can produces the virus ( it may not in reality), the virus , can you evulate the possibitlies of virus can entend the window period. This is what i really am worried. Please kindly help with your expertise medical knowledge to see if any virus can be extend.

I knew that I am too irrational about this issue. Like I mentioned as above, if only HIV-phobia, I can work it out via testing (even 3 months).

But about delay seroconversion, this may led a unpredicatable time-consumed scary. Therefore, except for you mentioned it was a urban myth, could you explain in a TECH and SCIENCE WAY about seroconversion is impossible (e.g. the virus will be disabled to convert after 3 years into the body?)

I think only to see reason of unable to convert after 3 or 6 month can make me in peace of mind.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm happy to confirm the accurate replies you had on the HIV community forum.

You cannot catch HIV by hand-genital contact.  Without a bare penis inside a partner's vagina or rectum, the virus cannot be passed.

And there is nothing that ever delays seroconversion.  That's an urban myth.  You don't need an HIV test, but if you decide to be tested,  you can have conclusive results by 4-8 weeks, depending on which test (or combination of tests) you have.

So no worries, all is well, you cannot possibly have HIV from this event.  Don't bother to be tested.
