Massage - Hand job

Hello Doctor,

I would like to tell you what happend to me:

I went to a spa and got a massage 5 weeks ago. The lady masturbated me in the end.
I did not kiss her or do any other sexual acts with her didnt touch her really.

However, i got really worried. After about 30 hours after the event i got a sore throat which later developed to a flu for 5 days. (just to mention my wife got the same flu after me and we did not has any sexual relations in this time.)

I did the conbo duo tests at 14, 24 days both negative.

I wil do the same at the 42 day mark.

Also over the last week i had body itches with no rash, i dont know if related to stress or sports...i am very active soccer player.

Was the flu the day after i big sign of HIV infection?
Will the test at 42 days be conclusive/
Was i at any danger?

I am very afraid and i need your expertise.

Thak u very much!

HSV outbreaks do not affect HIV test reliability (no medical problem does that!) and they are not a sign of immune deficiency.  They just happen.

You may not keep returning with every additional anxiety driven worry that comes to mind.  Please re-read my replies above and concentrate.  It makes it very clear that you could not possibly have acquired HIV.  There is no scenario your mind can think up that would change that fact.  Any more such comments will result in immediate deletion of the entire thread.

Thanks for the music offer.  But still, I told you that your negative test result at 6 weeks is conclusive.  That means you do not have HIV and any symptoms must be due to something else.  Nor do I see any reason to have to keep repeating the same message!  Concentrate on your music, forget HIV, and see a doctor if the itching or other symptoms continue.

Already answered in my original reply.  Yes, a 42 day combo test is conclusive.

That's all for this thread; any further comments will be deleted.  Try to move on.

Doc

Believe me i dont wanna write anything here...but i am now concerned after having the herpes problem i am having now mouth ulcers one in the tongue and two in the mouth.

You have to wonder if one is healthy with all these problems...

Monday i will test for the last time its my 84th day. Believe me after that i won't disturb you anymore.

Is mouth ulcers at 11 weeks a big sign for HIV?

Thanks again...

Hey Doc

Sorry to bother u here again.

Its that I got up yesterday and noticed I had a herpes sore in my lip. I am used to those since I get them every once in a while, usually when I’m stressed.

My question is only if this has any implications when I go to take my test 2 weeks from now, could it give me a false positive?

Is my immune system a week one because I get this once in a while?

That’s all really,

Thank you

Doc

You never answered me about the itching i had in my third week. the itching was with no rash and it went on for anout a week and 3 days.
Maybe because of paranoia, sweat, grass alergies, i dont know.
At the time i was under a lot of stress (still am).

Also at the time i was training a lot in a very humid enviroment... So after i would shower i would start sweating again because it was so hot and humid.

Some web sites say itching is a sign for HIV. Anyway i'l be honest with u i am fed up of this situation, here on my 68th day and moving strong...at the 90 day mark i will do the test and if everything goes ok get back to my life and record this heavy metal CD i am working on with my band.

I will send u a copy if u like heavy metal!

All the best and thank you so much for you kind help.

Pleae sir i'm freaking out!
I'm crying my heart out out of fear.

I just saw this post saying that itchi skin is an early sign of HIV.

http://www.livestrong.com/article/108705-early-symptoms-being-hiv-positive/

And i had this itchi skin for like a week and a half 3 to 4 weeks after the event in the spa.

I did today the combo test again (41 days).
Really no offence to anyone, but some say combo tests are conclusive at 6 weeks others at 4 others say its uselless...i dont know what to think anymore.
I'm so afraid...i can't take it anymore.

Sorry for posting again!

Will the combo test at the 42 day mark be conclusive (6 weeks).

The reason i ask is because i wanna try making a baby with my wife on our honey moon?
I did not had any other sexual encounters during this time.

Thanks Doctor!

Doctor,

Thank you very much for your answer! I would like to let you know that i will overcome my fears and start living again after this incident.
I have a perfect understanding that i am a bit hypocondriac when it comes to HIV.

I appreciate all the forums people for responding to me all this times.

Take care!

Welcome to the forum.  Responding only to the title you chose for your question, before reading anything else:  HIV is not transmitted by massage or hand-genital contact.  If that is your only potential exposure, you have no worries about HIV -- and that opinion almost certainly will not change once I read the details in your question.

Now I have done that.  Guess what?  In addition, I see you have asked about the same events on the HIV community forum and have been repeatedly reassured you were not at risk.

Your symptoms could not possibly have been due to HIV, which cannot cause sore throat or any other symptoms sooner than 7-10 days after exposure.  If you caught anything during the massage, it was a cold virus, nothing more.  (And probably not even that.  Even colds typically don't start until 3-4 days after exposure.)

Regardless of symptoms, there was no need for HIV testing.  But in any case, your negative combo test at 3+ weeks is over 90% reliable.  You don't need to wait until the 6 week mark for another test; the combo test is virtually 100% reliable at 4 weeks.  In the meantime, stop worrying.  It is simply impossible that you caught HIV during your adventures in the spa.
