Stupid mistake

I received oral sex by a prostitue. We used the condom that she had that was not in a manufacturer's wraper. It was in a napkin but new. She bent over in front me when I had my legs open in order for her to stimulate. She touched her legs and who knows what else she touched in her self as I did not see( you can say she touched her vagina and fluids). She turned around grabed the condom and put it on me with her mouth. She gave me oral but I did not last long. I would say two minutes but in reality more like 30 seconds. She took out the condom out with some kleenex. I DID NOT INSPECT THE CONDOM. To see if it had tiny holes or not. Then She sat in bed then got up to get Kleenex to clean my penis. I touched where she was sitting. I felt the vaginal fluids in my hand and fingers. I grabbed a Kleenex, which I did not fold, and put it over my fingers that touched the fluid. I poured rubbing alcohol over fingers. The kleenex was now transparent. I open my urethra and rubbed the inside hard and closed the urethra make the hole air tight. I then clean the rest of the penis head and fore skin. Grabed for skin and put it over my penis head.

I understood; you described this sequence in the community forum; I didn't think it necessary to repeat it.  This does not change my opinion or advice.  It is exceedingly unlikely that you could have transferred enough vaginal fluids to your urethra by this method to allow an HIV infection to take hold -- even if she were infected, which probably she wasn't.  That the condom was unwrapped ahead of time is irrelevant.

As I already said, HIV does not cause urinary symptoms.  And as I already said, your other symptoms do not sound like ARS.

You have been given overwhelming evidence and reasoned reassurance that there is no realistic risk you caught HIV from these events.  There's nothing you can add that is likely to change my opinion or advice, so that will be all for this thread.

You're asking too much of a distant online forum.  I cannot diagnose you and will not try.  You weren't at risk for STD.  See a doctor or clinic if you remain concerned.  I won't have any further replies.

Plus, I did not kissed the prostitute or kissed anybody in a while.

Sorry to bother you again. If you wish I could pay again. But symptoms seemed to have gone away. You know my risks as described above. I possibly got the adenovirus, but I used a condom. The only other mistake was rubbing deep inside my urethra with the thin one layer Kleenex which cover my vaginal fluid covered fingers. Most of the posts here regarding adenovirus deal with unprotected oral sex. How can I be exposed to one and not the other?

WOW THANK YOU VERY MUCH DOCTOR.

In the post immediately above you state:  "Sorry, in my initial reply I meant to say you were at no risk for HIV.  But also no significant risk for HIV."

By your subsequent statements I think you meant:" Sorry, in my initial reply I meant to say you were at no risk for HIV.  But also no significant risk for STDs."

God bless. And thank you for your words.

Sorry, in my initial reply I meant to say you were at no risk for HIV.  But also no significant risk for HIV.  This really isn't an event that should be bothering you nearly as much as it has done.  If you remain nervous, get professionally evaluated.  But if I were in your situation, knowing what I know, I wouldn't feel a need to be examined and would continue unprotected sex with my wife with no fear of giving her anything.

Really, mellow out.  This wasn't a big deal at all.

And next time, forget the alcohol.  A little soap and water maybe, but that's all.

Sorry it is just that I am scared of risk. But your post says no risk for stds so I assume no risk for HIV.

In addition to the above, how could I get adenovirus and not be exposed to HIV?

P.s. I understand urinary symptoms are unrelated to ars, I was just thinking confection. However would:

1) does a high viral load in the vaginal fluids change your mind?

2) do you still stand your original response to my first question wherein you stated that I had zero risk for STDs From these events (I assuming HIV is included in your definition of STD)?

It is just that the community forum they that was the virus is exposed to air it is inactive. I irritated my penis with alcohol I figured if active it would be easier to transmit.
No more questions.

Oh yeah, when I first started feeling the burning urination the tip was slightly red/ pink and the small side of the penis as well. I have gotten all of my chest. Please read my posts above. Sorry it just the analytical type.

I am sorry I read your reply to no 1. You stated I was NOT at risk for STDs. So I am assuming I was not at risk for Hiv?

I don't think you understood my risk. Yes she did give me oral sex at massage parlor. She used a condom that she touched with her fingers ( unknown if she had vaginal fluids on her). What I did afterward really has me worried. I attempted to clean the inside of my urethra with my fingers after I had touched some vaginal fluids immediately after she got up from where she was sitting. I grabbed a Kleenex with that specific hand and put some alcohol on it. The Kleenex was transparent with the alcohol. I rubbed into my urethra and clean rest of penis. I am uncircumcised. I cover my penis hand with foreskin afterward. I am worried that my situation is not like mutual masturbation and frottage but rarer some sort of receptive setting taking into consideration that I rubbed that I not only rubbed the inside but irritated the penis with alcohol making the path for HIV easier.
Oh the condom that she used was new but not in a wrapper but in napkin probably to avoid being busted by the cops. It just that my symptoms reminded me of ars.
As burning urination, and slight testicular pain, I am a lot better. About 6/7 months ago my doctor told me I had a uti ( but I actually believe was prostates) and he gave me a weeks worth of cipro. The urinary symptoms I felt for this occasion were mild in comparacense. I am just afraid I got HIV.

Welcome to the forum. But if you ask any other questions in the future, please limit your question to the initial question window, meeting the limit of 2,000 characters.  The moderators are not supposed to have to look in a comment window for the complete question.  On some MedHelp forums, the moderators set their browsers so they never even see comments other than the original question.

I reviewed your discussions on the community forum.  You are way over-analyzing your exposure, and obviously were having trouble understanding or believing the accurate advice you were given.

Most sex workers don't have HIV, and even without a condom, oral sex carries little or no risk for transmission even if the oral partner is infected.  It doesn't matter that you didn't inspect the condom afterward; if it didn't obviously break, it was intact.  It also doesn't matter that she applied the condom with her mouth.  None of these things affects the risk of HIV transmisison.

Alcohol should never be used on the penis -- and rubbing it into the opening??  That must have been incredibly painful!  There is no need for such strong disinfectants; a simple and quick soap and water wash after sex is all that is needed to help reduce the risks of HIV and other STDs.

1) You were at zero risk for STD from these these events.

2) Alcohol for sure kills HIV, but its benefit in preventing HIV transmission has not been studied.  It probably has little if any effect.

3) Yes, it is possible the alcohol might increased the risk.  But first you have to be exposed to the virus, and almost certainly you were not.

4)  No.  HIV never causes pain or irritation of this sort. Your urethral pain might be due to the alcohol.  It is also possible, but unlikely, that you acquired an STD such as gonorrhea or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU) from your partner's mouth.  Or that the alcohol set you up for a non-STD urinary tract infection (UTI).  Or adenovirus (see no. 5.)

5) Some viruses (e.g. adenovirus) can cause simultaneous upper respiratory and urethral infections.  Your symptoms do not suggest HIV infection.

6) Friction may make a difference for some STDs, but probably not for HIV.  In any case, oral exposures of any kind almost never transmit the virus -- so this really doesn't matter.

If the painful urination continues, you definitely should see a doctor or clinic.  Depending on what they find, perhaps tests will be done for STDs and UTI.  As I said, from a medical or risk assessment standpoint, you do not need to be tested for HIV on account of these events.  However, you're obviously frightened and probably should have an HIV test on that basis, so the negative result can help calm your somewhat irrational fears.

As I implied above, don't overthink this.  This is just a straightforward situation of a low risk exposure, like all oral sex events.

Regards--  HHH, MD

Symptoms, 4/5 days later burring urination.
Days after burning urination I got a fever, swollen lymph nodes below ears and swolleness on neck area. Below my arm pit I felt a bump and it hurt. I fell that area a little sore and tender. Altough I seen no visible lymph nodes in my groin area whe I first started getting sick I felt the once in my right groin area pulsate and hurt a little bit sometimes. I also felt some headaches. no rash on chest and back. no mouth sores, I only coughed about twice.

1) what was my risk?
2) did the rubbing alcohol kill HIV.
3) by me putting rubbing alcohol while touching myself inside urethra DID I SIMULTANIOUSLY IRRITATED MY MUCUS MEMBRANE AND MADE THE PATH FOR HIV EASIER?
4) since I got something in me cause of burning urination, doesn't that tell you something happened that hiv got inside me?
5) I been through a flu, cold, and sinus, last year. What I have been going through was not those thing I can tell the difference. I had swollen nodes as described above with fever.

A lot of people talk about friction is required to transmit the HIV, I think I did that here, plus I closed my penis hole after that. What do you guys think?
