HIV risk and safe cleansing recomendation

Hi,
I have read the archives.  During a massage I fingered a women using finger cots.      Her status is unknown although she had tested negative 9 months earlier.  She has several partners with witch she uses condoms for intercourse but unprotected fellatio and cunnilingus though not to completion for the man).  After her orgasm, I removed cots and cleaned hands of some residual fluid with Purell hand wash.  I Had some 1 to 2 day old nicks/cuts on hand from working on car, some on top of knuckle so not sure of integrity of healing.  They had not been bleeding that day that I noticed.  I Was shooting for 100% safe but now have read that Purell might not kill HIV.  I should have kept nicks/cuts covered but now perhaps touched some of the residual fluid on my hands to them while using the Purell.  What an idiot.  Much of the fluid on hands was Astroglide lubricant.  One hour later when using Purell a nick on knuckle stung slightly though still did not bleed although when blotted with tissue showed a residual kind of moisture on tissue.  Is there any risk of HIV infection ( I realize that it is low ) and what is the best way to sterilize hands etc. when a partners fluids are on your body and you want to safely remove them.  I realize you recieve repeat questions on this subject as there there are many differing opinions and it's hard to detrermine the nature of cuts etc. from text.  Regardless, your opinion would be very much appreciated.

Thanks much.

There may be 'many differing opinions' on HIV transmission risk after such an exposure, but not from anybody who knows even a smidgen of science about HIV transmission.  And if you have indeed read the archives, you already know my opinion.  As peekawho already responded (below), there was zero risk from the events you describe.

No 'yes, but' or 'what if' follow up questions, please.  I won't have further comments.

I think the very fact that you used finger cots to manually stimuate a woman and are now asking about not only HIV, but ways in which to "sterilize" your hands, speaks volumes.

HIV is not transmitted by hand to genital contact.  There is no way to sterilize your hands, in any event.  Good old soap and water is all you need.
