The fact that your partner tested negative 16 days after your exposure provides conclusive evidence that you did not get HIV from her. The odds were already in your favor but this fact, along with all of the other testing you have had, rules out HIV. Time for you to concentrate on moving forward. EWH
Thanks Dr. Hook.
Yes, urine for gona/chlm and blood tests for the rest. Your response is almost re-assuring. The place where I took the hiv dna test said the doctors recommend waiting 3 weeks...
I live in China; took antibody test (don't know exact name/type of antibody test at my int'l hospital) at days 9, 33, and 39. Took the tests listed above in USA at 21 days. The lady I was with has a negative hiv antibody test at 16 days after our single contact (exposure date).
Simply freaking out given the weird feelings in my inner elbows and the wierd pain/feelings in my groin area. Wife is back and am concerned about her health/safety.
In your opinion, what/when can I feel results are conclusive that I am OK and these other feelings are not related to HIV?
Thanks for you help.

Welcome to our Forum Were all of these tests blood tests or were urine tests performed as well? Blood tests for gonorrhea and chlamydia are a waste of time and money. On the other hand, if you had a urine test, you can believe the tests and be confident you did not get gonorrhea or chlamydia.
As for your HIV test, at 4 weeks the combination ov the HIV PCR and antibody test provides 100% confidence that you did not get HIV,. At the time you were tested (21 days), the figure is close to this but not precisely known. It would likely detect more than 90% of recently acquired HIV infections however.
I doubt that you have anythng to worry about at this time. EWH
