Welcome to the Forum. I'll be please to comment. As you heard several weeks ago on the HIV Community site, this was a virtually no risk exposure. Before I comment on your exposure yourself, I should remind you that most people, even most exotic dancers, do not have HIV. Even in the unlikely circumstance that this woman had HIV however, your activities did not put you at risk. There are no cases in which HIV has been proven to be transmitted through a man receiving oral sex or through cunnilingus. Further, Your insertion of your finger into her vagina during the exposure does not represent a risk either. The cut would not have been deep enough and your body would have sealed off access to deeper tissues by that time. There is no reason for concern or for testing.
As for the burning sensation on your face, this is not suggestive of HIV and should not be linked to the exposure you mention. I suggest you look for some other cause of these sensations.
I hope these comments are helpful. No reason for concern and no reason for testing. EWH

Dr. Hook. Because of the nervous feeling that I have experiencing since my exposure I had decided to get a hiv blood test at my doctors office 36 days after my exposure. The test I took was a 3rd generation lab test which came back negative. How would you rate the percentage of any further test coming back negative. I think I am losing my mind with this event. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. This will be my last question that I will ask you. Thank you.
Yes I definitely feel a tremendous amount of guilt. I just hope as time passes I can be at peace with myself. I just feel as though I put my family life in jeopardy with my actions. I read your posts everyday to confirm to me that you are right in your advise to me. Thank you so much and I am sorry for my repetitive questions.
Your persistent concerns reflect your guilt and shame, not reality. There are no cases in which a man has gotten HIV from cunnilingus or from swallowing vaginal fluid. No change in my assessment or advice. EWH
Dr. Hook. Sorry to bother you again. I am mainly nervous about the exposure I had because I swallowed a fair amount of the strippers fluids when she reached climax. Do you really think I don't need retesting and can resume contact with my partner. I have not had sexual intercourse with her since that episode. Again, I apologize for inconveniencing you. Thank you sir
Thank you so much sir. The mind sure is a powerful tool which can make you think of all the worst possibilities when you are so anxious. I trust your judgement sir.May peace always be with you.
No need for re-testing or for you to continue to worry. This is coincidence, nothing more. EWH
Dr. Hook. Sorry to bother you again but last night I seem to have developed swollen reddish tonsils and and upper respiratory infection.I have no fever and it does not hurt when I swallow. I does feel however like something is stuck in my throat. Is this something that I should be concerned about due to the episode I had 3 weeks ago. And do you still think that I dont need to be re tested. Thank you and I nervously await for your reply.
Thank you Dr. Hook. Enjoy your Sunday
there was no need to test at all however, a five day test is essentially meaningless. My advice would be to not bother re-testing, to move on and to not worry about contact with your regular partner. EWh
Dr. Hook, thank you for the quick response to my question. I guess this scenario really made me very nervous. That might explain the numbness and redness of my face. I just have a few more questions. Because I was very nervous about exposure I had a blood test done 5 days after the event and it came up negative. Do you think I should have another test or just move on. Also is it safe to resume regular sexual activities with my partner. Thank you for your expertise in answering my questions.
