pricked by plant thorn

Hello doctor,
My friend is known hiv positive and was recently diagonosed during insurance check up.
He (my friend) got pricked from a rose thorn and bled. Now I also got pricked from the same thorn about a minute after he got p pricked on my finger and blood oozed out of my finger.
Now this exposure is driving me nuts since my friend is known hiv.
Also I guess in just one minute blood would be wet.
Now am I at risk?

HIV is not spread by passage on inanimate objects, includng rose thorns.  There was no risk to this expsoure.  There is no need for testing and no need for PEP.  EWH

Thanks doctor for the reply.
Actually my friend is not on any medication and his viral load must be high also the time between his injury and my injury is about 1 minute.
Hope that doesn't change opinion about the risk?
Thanks again

I understand you are anxious but what part of "No risk" is difficult to understand.  This is not a debate.  EWH

Last answer.  Answers on this site are individualized.  Your risk is different from those of the other post you mention.  for starters, the 1 minute time interval you mention assures that the virus would not be viable.

The thread is over. Further questions will be deleted without comment.  EWH
