Is fingering a risk--do I need PEP?

Hi,

I would greatly appreciate your help.

About 60 hours ago, I visited a gentlemens club and digitally stimulated one of the workers for about 1-2 minutes.  I immediately washed my hands thereafter.

The next day, I noticed that I had one-two small (3-4 mm) abrasions on my fingers, and am wondering whether there is any risk of HIV transmission via this method (fingering).  If so, should I run to the nearest ER to ask for PEP?  I am not sure whether the abrasions were there during the act or whether they were "open"  They are very shallow...definitiely not deep and at most were pussing a bit without blood the next day.

The girl also bit my neck but I have not noticed a puncture on subsequent examination so I assume I am OK here.

Thank you for your help!

Thanks so much for your help.

Is there any higher risk as to other STD's such as hepatitis?

Welcome to our Forum. I'll be pleased to comment.  This is a no risk event. By way of background, most commercial sex workers do not  have HIV.  More importantly however, there is absolutely no risk whatsoever from masturbation of an HIV infected partner, with or without nail infection, cuts on the fingers, etc.

There has never been a case of HIV proven to be transmitted through masturbation, even though it is typical for partners to get each other’s genital secretions on one another.

You have not need to worry, no need to test and certainly have no need to even consider PEP.

I hope my comment is helpful to you.  EWH
