your condom did not fail...you had NO risk
thank you lizzie.
Since my condom did not break, i don not need to test?
Of course you don't need a test, you never had a risk.
thank you teak. I feel better!
I have one last doubt. Why do doctors say theres is a small risk of contracting hiv even when using a condom. I thought condom protected sex was defenetly safe sex in regards to hiv if the condom does not break. Why is there a samll risk then?
Can teak or someone with knowledge please help me figure this out. I greatly appreciate it.
Teak said on a post i read that condoms were highly effective in preventig hiv, why arent they 100% effective if used properly and dont break?
if condoms arent used correctly...they can fail. then it is no longer 100%, is it?
So if used correctly and they dont fail, one can be 100% sure that they are having safe sex in regards to HIV?
Latex condoms, when used consistently and correctly, are highly effective in preventing the sexual transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. In addition, consistent and correct use of latex condoms reduces the risk of other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), including diseases transmitted by genital secretions, and to a lesser degree, genital ulcer diseases. Condom use may reduce the risk for genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV-associated diseases, e.g., genital warts and cervical cancer.
You never had a risk.
Teak can you help clear this out please???
You were told several times now that you didn't have an exposure.
Teak can you help me understand this please. Do you consider condom protected sex 100% safe sex?
Sorry didnt see your reply!!
Thankssss
I just dont understand why condoms are highly effective and not completly effective? Is it because they can break or slip off? If used correctly and dont break?
They are 100% if use consistently and correctly. That is from the point of store, applying and using plenty of waterbase lube. If there is no condom failure then you've never had a risk of contracting HIV.
I really appreciate your explanation. I feel very reliefed and gratefull.
Promise this will be my last question. What do you mean by using plenty of waterbase lube? I never use lube. Just the lube that comes already in the condom. Is it necesarry to use lube otherwise it will be easier for condoms to break. I have read the instructions that come in the condoms and they never talk about applying more lube.
I ask so that i can take all precautions to use condoms properly in the future!
Is it completly necesary to use lube? Or is it just to reduce the chances of condom breakage?
Yes,lube will prevent the condom from breaking,in certain situations. For example if you are engaging in anal sex lube is a must or the condom will have a high probability of breaking, even vaginal sex if the vagina is dry.
