HIV DUO test results and unprotected oral sex

Hi Doctor,
First of all thanks for the great work, don't even know how many times I have come to this website for reassurance...

## Background Information ##
I had unprotected Oral sex with CSW in Thailand and have been very anxious over last one month..
Came back home (Sydney) and had HIV DUO ab/ag tests on 5th, 12th, 16th and 28th day, with HIV negative results in all of them. I also got tested for Syphilis, Gonorrhea, HEP A, Herpes on various occasions in past 28 days, luckily all STD tests were negative. This is my 33rd day and I haven't had any obvious symptoms except bit of soar throat which is very normal for me.

## My Question ##

- Considering all the above facts, what is your opinion on my HIV status ? I really need an expert opinion to settle my nerves...

- As you can see I had test every week for last 4 weeks ... Do you think there is any chance of missing antigen by these 4 HIV duo tests ? most of the website/forums say that antigen should be detected within 2 -3 weeks but I have also read that antigen might show up after 5 - 6 weeks. I am very confused, can you please provide your expert advise on this ...

- Should I consider my test results as conclusive ? may be 99.9% ...

thanks in advance
James

ps: have paid already for such a great service to society..

Welcome to the forum.  I'm glad to hear the website has been helpful to you.

However, it appears you have had difficulty believing or understanding the information you found.  Undoubtedly you have seen responses to other users in which we described oral sex as carrying little or no risk for HIV; that most Thai sex workers do not have HIV; that people with oral-only exposures do not require HIV testing; that testing more than once (or sometimes twice) after an exposure is rarely necessary; and that the duo test (for HIV antibody and p24 antigen) is 100% relable by 4 weeks (28 days).  You also have been over tested for other STDs.

Collectively, Australia's sexual health centres is perhaps the world's best STD/HIV clinic network.  If you need further reassurance, visit your local SHC for advice.  But from what you say here, you can be 100% certain you did not acquire HIV during your Thai sex adventures last month.
