Thank you Doctor.. Appreciate your timely and relieving reply..
Yes, the risk here is "absolutely zero".
HIV/AIDS is very common in one sense -- millions of cases worldwide. However, it is hundreds of times more rare than influenza, the common cold, superficial staph infections, and many other infections that in fact are easy to transmit. In some population groups, sex with many partners is sufficiently common to make HIV/AIDS highly prevalent -- even though the virus is transmitted only once for every few hundred or several thousand sexual exposures.
Thanks Doctor... That was a very much relieving news..
If it was used by an infected person (very less chance) is it 100 % sure that HIV will not be active once it is moved out of its host???
Even i was sure that coincidently the chances of someone using it and that too with HIV is very very less..
But somehow the urge to live created a sort of panic.. So just to confirm, is the risk here is absolutely zero???
Also, just to know, Why though people say, HIV is hard to transmit and even for an unprotected sex with an infected partner the chances of infection is low, the number of HIV patients r ever growing???
Welcome to the forum.
First, it seems unlikely the sex toy had been used by othears. Even if so, it probably is unlikely it was used by someone with HIV or other STD. And even if it was used, and if by an infected person, HIV and other STD pathogens die promply on exposure to air -- so it isn't possible that you could have been exposed to the virus or other STD agents.
Accordingly, this event carries no risk at all, for HIV or any other STD. Don't worry about it. No testing is required, and you can safely continue unprotected sex with any regular partners you may have.
