Test results conclusive?

Dear Doctor,

I am from Thailand, (sorry for my bad English language) I did have a sex 1 year ago (Dec 6, 2012) with a commercial sex worker and using protected vaginal by condom and then it did not break or fail. After that, I have tested at Hospital by following information.

- 1st; Feb 5, 2013 (CMIA method: Negative)
- 2nd; July 14, 2013 (ELISA method: Negative)
- 3rd; Sept 28, 2013 (ELISA method: Negative)
- 4th; Oct 24, 2013 (CMIA method: Negative)

But, I still concern and worried about windows period and the infection issue; I would like to ask you about the following.

- What are my chances of being infected with HIV? How long should I wait until being tested?

- In some resource in Thailand (Website) it says that for some people it takes 6 months and even 12 months for an immune response, how can one know about this.

- Can I confident about conclusive of my test results?

Please kindly advise me? Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Sunny

Welcome to our Forum.  I'll be happy to answer your question.  There is no risk to you for HIV from taking part in condom protected sex with a commercial sex worker.  You did not need testing related to the exposure you described.  You decided to test however and now have proven without a doubt that you did not let HIV.  Each of the 4 tests you have taken since your exposure last December has provided conclusive results.

Thus, in answer to your specific questions:
What are my chances of being infected with HIV? How long should I wait until being tested?
The chance that you were infected by your exposure last December is zero.  There is no need for further testing.

- In some resource in Thailand (Website) it says that for some people it takes 6 months and even 12 months for an immune response, how can one know about this.
This statements are wrong.

- Can I confident about conclusive of my test results?
Your test results are conclusive.

Your questions suggests that you are being misled by the internet.  If you are seeking information on the internet, I suggest you stop- it will mislead you.  You have proven you did not get HIV from the encounter you described.  EWH
