Worried and need some Clarification

Doc,

I really appreciate your help and time. This forum really helps in a lot of ways to avoid anxiety.

I had a sexual intercouse with an escort last month on Nov 11, 2006. I did use the condom, but the oral sex lasted for 10 min. Both of them did , which I think It was stupid from my part. This is the first time, I had a sex with another woman who is really a stranger (Other than my Wife). I know this is a big mistake and I have realized it and moving on.

Now, I have been going through the cough and had 2 days of fever. The cough is still there for the last 10 days along with chills sometimes. No other symptoms though. I am under medication of Azithromycin for the last week. Still cough exists.  Just for the peace of my mind, I have give my blood sample for HIV testing with Labsafe. Waiting for my results. .

My questions are:

1. What are the chances of HIV case in my scenario?

2. Is this cought throwing me off the loop and causing anxiety?

My whole family is going through the cough, fever thing right now which makes me really doubtful and at the same time worried. What do you think? Are we under the weather or this is a really an infection?

Thanks for the help and appreciate your feedback.

You used a condom, therefore no HIV risk. Your family clealry is sharing a garden variety respiratory virus.  The answers to your questions are: 1) Zero.  2) Yes.

I saw that you had oral sex.  My reply is the same.  Oral is too low risk to worry about.  Search the threads for innumerable discussions about this.
