What do you think, doc?

Hey Doc,

About 6 weeks ago I made out with (French Kissed) a HIV+ guy (all we did was make out).  Neither of us had any open sores or cuts in or on our mouths, as best as I can recall.

So now here I am, 6 weeks later, with some flu-like symptoms that just started yesterday (although, the congestion is more likely due to my allergies, since that started up about 3 weeks ago).  But just yesterday, I noticed a general body ache and had some sweating last night (stress about this...or something else?).

So my questions are: Do you recommend I be tested based on the incident above and, do you think these symptoms are just a coincidence or something more sinister?

Much thanks.

Kissing is a zero risk exposure, regardless of partner's HIV status.  Your symptoms are too late to be due to HIV from that event, don't sound like ARS anyway, and undoubtedly are coincidental.  You do not need testing based on this exposure.  But if you remain nervous despite this reassurance, feel free to be tested.
