The novelty of such events often leads to anxiety. I hope that I can help to relieve your concerns. For starters, even if the woman was a commercial sex worker the changes are that she does not have HIV. Even in Thailand most commercial sex workers do not have HIV.
Even if she did, there is still no risk for HIV unless penetration occurred so for her to give you a body massage or to masturbate you is no risk. As for the contact of her mouth with your penis, The quoted figure for HIV risk, if one has oral sex with an infected partner is less than 1 in 10,000 and, in my estimation that is too high. Some experts state there is no risk at all from oral sex. Neither of us on this site have ever seen or reading the medical literature of a convincing instance in which HIV was passed by oral sex. This includes by all of the people who had gum disease, etc.
From what you tell me, you are at no meaningful risk for HIV from the exposure you describe. You certainly do not need to take ARVs and probably do not need testing at all. If you choose to get tested for your own peace of mind, I recommend that you wait until at least 4 and preferably 6 weeks following the exposure to get the tested. At that time, you can have confidence i the results which will confirm that you did not get HIV from this exposure.
Hope this helps. EWH
Dear Docs
Please help Update. I am freaking Out.
Dear Doc,
Thanks. This is convincing.
Two Points i would like to state
1. The Massage Parlour was in a 5 Star Hotel and it cost me 350 Dollars for this much worry and anxiety.
2. I asked the authorities and the Escort if they have health checking procedures. Both of them replied they do it on monthly basis.
3. I asked her status and she said she is normal as per her report on 3rd June
4. Also the touch between her mouth and my penis was close to 1-2 second only. I freaked out and she stopped immediately
Do you think doc i should go for testing as I am scared to test as well.
All of these facts make it even less likely that you were even expsoed to HIV and thus are associated with still lower risk of infection. In my opnion, there is no medical reason for you to be tested.
One further comment however. For you to be frightened of getting tested makes no sense. Testing does not give a person HIV but it does give them the power to know what is going on and whether or not they have the infection. Most tests are negative and if you were so unfortunate as to have HIV, the test would allow you to seek treatment sooner. There is no reason to delay or avoid HIV testing because of fear. EWH.
Thanks Dr Hook.
One last favour from you. Can you please advice me on last things.
1. Can u please quantify my risk considering I dont have any sores on penis i checked.
2. Episode lasted for 1.5 seconds max and she touched my penis with her mouth only once.
3. Should I have unprotected sex with my wife before I have the test before 6 weeks as you say because she will definitely get suspicious :(.
I dont know why did i comply to customers request :(
Thank you Sir for the work u r doing for the poor souls
Your risk of HIV is close to zero. There is no reason for you to avoid sex with your wife. EWH
