Infant injured by dr. during delivery

Three mos. ago, I witnessed the labor and delivery of my first grandson. I was very disturbed with the way her dr. handled EVERYTHING. He allowed her to have her labor induced for no reason. (I was simply told that things have changed since I had my children) I believe that this caused her very long , hard, and stressful labor and delivery. She was given many epidurals. The baby was in the birth canal for over 2 hours. (I believe it was 3) The dr. struggled to pull the babys head out and ended up actually poking his finger through the skin on the baby's head. I was horrified. But nobody else seemed concerned. And by the time he came out , my worry was the fact that it took so long for the baby to breathe or react to the nurses who by then were thumping and poking at him. Finally , it looked as though everything was going to be alright. He had a sore on his head that turned to a scab and took about 1 month to heal. From the beginning of his birth, I have agonized over several things. His still mishapen head that doesnt appear to be shaping up anytime soon. His leg shakes almost constantly , whether he is tired or not. He sleeps on his back , so he DOES get alot of "tummy time". But cannot seem to lift his head even the slightest bit. He does coo a little.  I look at him and try to see his eyes adjusting .But I don't see what I think that I should see. I don't know what to do.   T.A.D.

It sounds to me like the baby is having seizures.  My daughter also had a traumatic delivery which resulted in a stroke.

But one side shaking is seizures, which indicates a brain injury

Hi,

Most likely the baby suffered bruising on the scalp during delivery which took one month to heal. For the constant shaking of leg, you can try light massage with baby oil and see if it helps. I would also suggest that you schedule an appointment with a pediatric neurologist for complete evaluation of the child.
