Numbness in head after head injury

Hi!. Two days ago I was going up the stairs and fell and hit my forehead (more towards the left temple) with the corner of the step (made of stone/rock) . I had a pretty nasty cut but got it all cleaned up and applied merthiolate then glued it together. I got a penicillin shot too. There's some swelling, no bruise, nor temperature, I've had no trouble concentrating and I even exercised today. The wound is all dried up, seems good no redness around it.  My concern is that I've been having numbness in 3/4 of my head and headache. Is it just due to the hit or should I be more concern????

Thank you

I suffered a head injury back in June of last year. Towards the beginning I was experiencing some numbness in my head, too. As everyone else has already suggested - I would go to the emergency room. You might need to have an MRI done to see if there is some sort of bruising or bleeding.

One of my friend had the same accident, and doctor said his nerves were injured and cut from the accident. Now, he feels numb and tingling around the forehead through the back of the head. Will there be any treatment to help for the nerve to recover better?

Thank you,

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I agree with Caregiver completely. Stone edge can cause real damage and may not also, depending on the angle at which the head hit. It could just be that the sensory nerves are in shock but then it can also be a whiplash or serious bleeding inside.
Unless you consult a doctor and get examined, nothing can be said for sure. Please consult one ASAP, right now I would say—may be an emergency room? If you cannot get a doctor right away! Take care!

You should head for the emergency room for a neurological evaluation.

It is difficult to say whether you should be concerned. Maybe yes and maybe no.

Remember there is a window of opportunity for treating swelling in the brain and slow bleeds, and if that window is missed very bad things can happen.
