aneursym post op symptoms

I had surgery in February for a cerebral aneursym on the right side.  Initially after surgery i was experiencing a feeling of dizziness most times when i got up and moved around.  As time went on it became less and less.  It is now almost 6 months later and the symptoms are much less. However,  i still get this feeling that comes over me usually when i am tired or after i have been running around all day.  I wouldn't say that it is a dizzy feeling but it  feels like i may feel if i have had a few drinks. It is just an off kind of out of it feeling. My surgeon had no answer for why i was feeling this way.  I also still experience tenderness if i rub my right temple.  The skin on that side of my head is tender. Will that go away with time?
Thank you

Hello,

Dizziness, fatigue, numbness of the incision site, short term memory loss, depression and anger are common after neurosurgery for cerebral aneurysms. These may take approximately 6 mths-12 mths to resolve. In some people, several years can be taken for complete recovery.

If there is any sudden severe headache, seizures, stiff neck, unconsciousness or syncopal attacks or drainage from the incision, then it requires immediate reporting to the ER.

Hope it helps.Pls do keep us posted if you have any additional queries.

Hi! It's been a while since my aneursym (2001) I don't really recall much dizziness except for a few occasions I believe may have been related to my pain meds. The things that bothered me the MOST was a total numbness on my scalp in the area that was cut. The other was my 'dent' left in my right forehead from the surgery. I no longer have the numbness, and now I wear my 'dent' proudly to remind me I am alive and functioning and to live each and every day knowing I came very close to missing them! Good Luck to You!
