Can anyone read the findings of a echo?

Mine is saying I have mild tricuspid and mitral regurg, I have this  for years. Last echo showed Pulmonary hypertension now I am under 30 so no PH.. This Echo is showing mild to moderate Aortic as the Cardio called it leakage, but is the same as regurg from what I read.I have  a copy of the Echo but don't understand the meanings of the measurements. What measurements or findings on a echo suggest this? My cardio wants to see me in a year and redo a Echo in 2 years.

I am a 72 year old female. My B/P was 188/82 when they did the echo and the tech was not friendly at all. In fact sort of yelled at me because I have fibromyalgia and arm starting from spsams from the position it was in. I did complain to my cardio about her.

Thanks, Line

Thanks I guess I will just have to trust my cardio and see him in a year, maybe he will suggest a echo sooner than 2 years. I see my G/p every 4 months and she really stays on top of things.

The good thing with a plumber is can use a pipe wrench and fix things..

Thanks for your time.

I believe the regurgitation is a visual thing with different colours as they watch the monitor. On my echo they looked for a red colour which showed reverse flow blood. It's more of an educated guess rather than anything else and takes experience. A bit like a plumber looking at a dripping tap and telling you how bad it's leaking.

do you have any idea what numbers you look at to see how bad this leakage is. I have read where people are saying their arotic root were enlarged and the atrium was enlarged.  my aortic root is 2.7 and my atrium is normal.

Any idea where ken keith is?

yes regurgitation is the same as 'leak'. If a leak is trivial or mild, then they don't normally get concerned, but moderate is a bit different. Although it states mild/moderate I would take it as the latter. In the UK, most moderate regurgitations are checked every year because they can quickly move to severe with some individuals 2 years is considered too long. When severe, it is much harder to repair. If monitored more regularly, every year, the chances of catching the problem early are much improved.
