Hi everyone, newbie here.
Just a bit of info about myself: I'm a19yo male, I'm 5'6", and weigh 178, my BMI is 28.7. I never excercise, eat fast food every day and generally in bad physical shape, but my bP is completely normal.
So for the past month I've been experiencing bouts of severe chest pain at random times throughout the day, they generally last 10-20 mins, sometimes longer. Usually feel like I'm being squeezed and are accompanied by shortness of breath and occasionally dizziness, but areas of pain in the chest vary (usually the whole chest or to the left of spine) and types of pain change too, mostly it's the squeezing/pressure feeling, others are electrical shock like sensations and rapid stabbing like pains too. They especially happen when I am laying down and one has even woken me up. So last Friday, I went to the ER for it and they ran an EKG on me which came back normal except it said Sinus Bradycardia because I had a HR of 56bpm (which I knew something was wrong with my heart rate before then because I averaged it earlier last week and got 47.3bpm), I understand that sinus bradycardia is common in healthy people, especially athletes, but how could it come back normal for someone like me? These are the results from that test:
HR:56
PR: 148
QRSD: 94
QT: 380
QTc: 367
--AXIS--
P: 34
QRS: 49
T: 7
-Normal EKG-
Now I went to a cardiologist yesterday to get the problem looked at more thoroughly and these are my new EKG results:
HR: 59
PR: 130
QT/QTc: 364/363
QRSD: 102
P Axis: 27
QRS Axis: 98
T Axis: -15
Her interpretation states: (1) Sinus Bradycardia. (2) -RSR(V1) -probably normal for age, and (3) Nonspecific ST changes inferiorly.
-ABNORMAL EKG-
She has scheduled me for an echo and a treadmill stress test. I also got my cholesterol checked that day (still waiting on results).
My main question is what does Nonspecific ST changes inferiorly mean? What causes it? And my secondary question is should I be worried about this EKG? I'm currently not on any meds, my bP has always stayed below 120 systolic (that's the top numbers term I think) diastolic is always good too. I'm not an anxious person and don't get nervous about hospitals, doctors, etc. I'm not really concerned because I doubt that they'll find anything wrong because of my age, I just need answers for what's causing all the severe chest pain I've been having.
Sorry for the super long post, just don't know what any of these results mean and if anyone could help out (especially with that nonspecific ST changes thing), I would greatly appreciate that!
Thanks!
