Is Palpitations Normal post CABG (Open Heart Surgery)

I just wanted to clear few confusions with regards to the Palpitations that occur post CABG... Are these normal. My Father underwent a CABG around 4 months ago, He is doing fine.. His health is also stable, However, He sometimes experience palpitations. but now it happens frequently. The cardiologist diagnosed the situation and concluded it to be normal. So, Please guide whether this is eventually a normal process post CABG.. Thanks...

Regards,
Mohammed.

You may have misunderstood your doctor's comment to say palpitations are normal.  Palpitations aren't normal but many individuals have palpitations: Unpleasant sensations of irregular and/or forceful beating of the heart. In some patients with palpitations, no heart disease or abnormal heart rhythms can be found. In others, palpitations result from abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias). Arrhythmias refer to heartbeats that are too slow, too rapid, irregular, or too early.

The after effects post surgery do not include palpitations as normal or expected.
