CRP hs .. advice please!!

CRP hs .. advice please!!

about  5 months ago.. i had a CRP hs done.. it was 6.5.. ref range of 0-5.00... last week..I had another done.. and now its climbed to 8.64... my doctor said it was nothing to worry about.. to take an aspirin a day.. andleft it at that..he said that if it was really high... then he would worry about heart issues.. however.. i have read over 11 articles that state when a CRP is where my range is.. its cardiac.. and when its way high..over 10... that its probably due to arthritis, and auto immune.  im really confused. this has me worried... i already have 2nd degree heart block, which i am followed by a cardiologist.  Does my doc have this backwards?

If the test is to help find your risk for heart problems when there are apparent other risk factors such as cholesterol, age, blood pressure, and smoking then CRP is negative for 0.1.0 to less than 10 according to my health report. But the connection between high CRP levels and heart disease risk is not understood very well so it is difficult to comment on the probability of a heart issue.

However, there are other issues that can be of concern.  My source: "C-reactive protein (CRP test) is a blood test used to help diagnose infection, cancer, immune system disorders such as lupus and arthritis, and much more. The test is not specific enough to diagnose a disease but can help assess an ongoing inflammatory process. In otherwise healthy people a highly sensitive C-reactive protein can be used to help screen for heart disease".

CRP is negative for 0.1.0 to less than 10 for heart issues according to my written health report, .

Hope this provides a perspective, and helps you with any medical consultations with your doctor going forward, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Thanks for the question.  Take care,

Ken
