How often Can I take metoprolol 25mg?

Hello. I have tons of PVC’s and have been given metoprolol 25mg to take twice a day. They seem to help a lot, but within a week they seem to have lost their effectiveness before my next dosage time. Can I take a third one in the middle of the day or will that send me over the rainbow?

If by over the rainbow you mean death. Yes, thats possible.

Ger speaks the truth.

If you ask your doctor he can raise the dose if he/she feels its safe. Otherwise they can just switch you to a different medicine.

It will have effect on more than just the incidence of PVC's. Your resting heart rate i.e. may go down to very low levels.

Anyway, you do not change your medication regimen on your own. You have to consult your doctor.
