I have the same pains. My pain Dr sent me to my family Dr. for an EKG, it was irregular. She sent me to a cardiologist. He took an EKG which was also irregaular, so he took a series of die tests and stress tests, that also came back irregular. Next month I am having an angiogram. The Dr. says there is no rush, but they will check my heart and it's vaulves and arteries to make sure I don't need a stint or balloon to open things up. I suggest you start with an EKG also, with chest pain you never know what you may find.

I have sharp very painful feelings in my left chest area usually right under my left pec. it always travels to my left arm shoulder and arm.  the pain in the arm seems to be in the bicep and forearm, this can last longer than the pain in the chest. When the chest pain hits its intense, I cant breath in because it hurts so bad, is this what you are having? If not can anyone help me.
