Chest pains

I can sympothize with anyone who has chest pains and is scared for whatever reasons; because Drs in general do not really listen when patients tell them that they are having a problem or in pain.  I have been having chest pains since 2004 and had been told that it was muscular skeletal.  I was found to have a congenital birth defect in 2005 which had to be repaired after I had a mini stroke (PFO repaired).  Now, this year in June 2010 after all these tests, the repair and everything, I was found to have more than just the PFO and ended up having to have bypass surgery!  For whatever reason one of my coronary arteries is not on the surface of the heart, but "coursing between my aorta and pulmonary arteries.  I have had the surgery to bypass the area where the coronary artery is between all that stuff and possibly compressing it, which they thought might be the cause of my chest pains, but turns out that it wasn't because I am still having chests pains now.  I have been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension which I was told is usually caused by some other health problem.  Going back over some of my medical records I noticed that I had a "nodule" in the upper lobe of my left lung back in 2006 which no doctor ever mentioned they found and mentioned it to my lung Dr, so now I have to go back to my pulmonologists to let them check that out to make sure that is has not grown from the 3mm size that it was on the initial scan.  I am trying to figure out what I will have to do for relief if all other tests and medications that I have been prescribed do nothing to help with the chest pain?  Most of the medications will work for a few weeks then I will get the chest pains even while taking them.

This discussion is related to muscular skeletal chest pains.

Oh I totally agree.
2005-2007   Several trips to ER with chest pains. EKG normal, diagnosed as stomach.
2007           3xMI attacks, stent fitted.
2007           Triple bypass. Three months later cardiologists said everything was fine even though I was complaining breathing was harder. Went to different hospital/cardiologist who did angiogram to discover bypass failed.
2009            Lots of stents used to reopen LAD. Complained of angina still but was told its vasospasm. They wouldn't listen to me when I said it wasn't.
2010            Echo stress test revealed bottom of LAD restricted, causing angina.

If only they would listen, it would save time and money. We know our bodies.
