It is difficult to know what might be the cause of your increase. All you really know for sure is that your LDL is much higher. I would suggest stopping your fish oil supplements for 6 weeks and retesting .

Previously, it was 170 but this time for some reason the lab did not send back a total. The doctor did not put me on any medication but wants to retest in 3 months.
Just to confuse the issue, after taking fish oil my total cholesterol dropped, including my LDL, my Tri's lowered and my HDL's lowered as well. Go figure. I think my HDL's lowered because I haven't been able to exercise as vigorously lately due to a pulled muscle. I'd suggest you stay with the Omega 3-6-9 fish oils for now and see what the next tests show.
