EKG is a good indicator for normal hearts at rest. However, if you have a blocking artery which prevents a higher blood flow when the heart needs to work harder, a stress test is required. An echo is more for looking at dimensions of the heart and valve function. It will pick up abnormal wall motion obviously caused by a blocked artery or previous heart attack.
which is the most definitive heart test that best gauges how well or not your heart is functioning AN EKG or an Echocardiagram?
Can you show me the link where you saw that information? A heart attack is myocardial infarction and that means the blood supply is affected. Perhaps you had an arterial spasm or something? but for a vessel to constrict so much is very rare. As for your breathing, perhaps something like a beta blocker medication would help. Those keep your heart from working hard and is a standard medication.
Yes I get chest pain and am out of breath alot. I am also always sleepy. They said there are different kinds of heart attacks and that there doesn't always have to be a blockage. I found that odd so I googled it. Its true that a heart attack can happen without blockages.
First of all, it's your body and nobody can tell you what you will do with it, you are in control of all options. When you say you have no blockages, I'm assuming you mean apart from the one which caused the heart attack? With the right medications your EF could rise, possibly to 40% but no one knows. I think you would be wise to give it 6 months to a year and see. Are you out of breath? getting chest pains at all?
