mitral valve repair- Tirone David or Dreyfus?

Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate your advice.

I have severe mitral regurgitation due to advanced myxomatous disease of the mitral valve with prolapse of both leaflets, and 4 torn cordaes.

I am about to undergo a mitral vavle reapir, and I have a hard time deciding between these two surgeons:
1. Prof Gilles Daniel Dreyfus of Harefield hospital, London.
2. Prof Tirone David of the Toronto General Hospitel, Toronto.

Do you happen to know any of these surgeons? I am in search for the one MOST EXPERIENCED IN MITRAL VALVE REPAIRS.

I know that Prof. David is more famous around the world, but it seemes to me that he has many specialities and mitral valve repair is not his main speciality.

however, I've heared that Prof. Dreyfus, though less famous, is specialized in mitral valve repairs.

Do you know anything in this matter?

I wouls really apreciate it if you share your knowledge with me.

I am a physician in the USA. I had both my mitral and aortic valves repaired by Dr. Tirone David at Toronto General. Surgeons at the Mass general and the Cleveland Clinic Hospitals wanted to replace my aortic but he was able to repair them both and I remain coumadin free. My cardiologist here said that his hands were like DaVinci's as the end result on the echo was fantastic. He is a class act as a person, a physician and as a surgeon. Good luck

I know Tyrone David- as I live in Toronto. He is top notch- put it this way they call him "the God" at Toronto General Hospital. If you can get him to operate on you consider yourself "lucky" "fortunate" or whatever adjective you wish to use ...you get the message here. He mainly takes on very high risk cases and his hands are probably insured for many millions... Kidding but you understand- the guy is amazing, great bedside manners, very humble for someone who doesn't need to be. I don't know the other surgeon buy Dr. David is world reknown as he pioneered several techniques. My vote is for TDavid.
