how accurate are stress tests?

Just wondering how accurate a stress test is.  My PVCs are going nuts again, I had a stress test about 3 months ago that was normal.  THey also ran some blood tests, chest xray and EKGs.  Everything was great.  Had a normal sono a few years back too.  I have just heard it is possible to miss something and it makes me wonder when I have these bad spells.  I am 33 and have been having SVT and PVC and PACs for 20 years now.  My weight has fluctuated greatly and it makes no diff if I am skinny or heavier, the flip flops keep a coming.  The only thing I can figure is that last year I lost a baby and was extremely stressed and it seems I have had continuous PVCs since.  Any ideas?

A nuclear stress test is supposed to be 85% accurate and that's a step up from a standard treadmill stress test combined with echo.  So I imagine that a standard treadmill stress test/echocardiogram is somewhat less reliable.

hi juniorfan, so sorry to hear about the baby, and yes stress from that if your still out about it can bring on the pvc/pac. i have them like 9 weeks going and every 6-7 a min so i was having lots of them to , but all checked out fine for my heart . if you had a scan of your heart and it looked good than , it could be all the stress your putting your self through. try relax see if you an get a dr to give you a pill to help you relax see if they get better . but if you trust your dr than you know you will be fine. mine are gone right now have been for 8 weeks and durning thoses 8 weeks i have had very bad anxiety which did not bring them on, so not sure why mine comes but its not from stress like most other people. they have a mind of there own and come as they wish. am skinny to and it dont matter what size i am either . i hope you have a great 4th and plap free. barbara
