ECG Results

Hello - I amnot sure if I have logged on to the correct forum but here is my question.  My husband went to the hospital on Friday because he had a funny turn at work.  He just felt really unwell and had some discomfort in the middle of his chest which didn't disappear.  I know this sounds a bit vague but I am not sure how else to discribe it.  At the hospital they thought he had a pnuema thorax (hope I have spelt this correctly) but a chest xray showed no evidence of this.  They decided to do an ECG although they didn't think that it would show anything.  Afterwards, however, when the doctor was looking at the results he said to my husband 'did you have any chest pain'  - he didn't.  The doctor explained that one of the three readings showed an abnormality but it was totally insignificant.  The doctor repeated the test a little while later and the result was the same.  He discharged my husband but has booked him to have another ECG with our GP on Friday.  Does anyone know what the abnormality could be and why the doctor would think it is totally insignificant.  Thank you to anyone who answers and sorry if I have appeared on the wrong forum.

Thank you so much for your reply.  They said that they were going to do some blood tests but then didn't.  He has got a ECG booked with our local surgery on Friday.  It just concerned my husband when the Dr said that there was an abnormality but that it was not significant.  I think my husband would have liked him to have elaborated a bit just so that he knew where this abnormality could have come from and if it is something to worry about in the future.  Thanks once again for your reply.
