The septum is the wall that separates the right and left chambers.  Distal is the location and hypokinesis indicates there is some heart cell damage that impairs contractions.  The ejection fraction (EF) is the amount of blood pumped out of the left ventricle into circulation with each heartbeat.  Normal range for EF is 50 to 75%.

The impairment of the septum tends to decrease the EF, but there is very little damage with 50-55% EF.  Damage usually is the result of a prior heart attack.

Chest pain at rest and if related to the heart indicates the heart cells are not receiving sufficient supply of blood with each heartbeat.  Did you have a stress test to identify any blockages of coronary arteries?  It is unusual to have a low normal EF with hypokinesis and heart related chest pain at rest.  There must be more to the report for an explanation?
