EF of 15%

I have just been told that I have an EF of 15%.
No symptoms except shortness of breath and wheezing.
I have Parkinson's and have been on Stalevo for about
5 years.  Stalevo is suppose to weaken the heart.
My doctors are saying that the Stalevo is not the cause.
I am on a meds- BP and Beta-blocker with an external defibrillator.
I have to wait 3 months for an internal defibrillator. Is this due to
insurance or does the heart really improve with meds only?

If through a virus, then this is normally not so much of a mystery when so much of the heart is affected. With infection, it isn't just the foreign body which does the damage, but also your immune system can do just as much harm. If the infection matches the chemical codes of cardiac muscle too closely, then the immune system attacks the heart thinking it's the infection also. This can lead to a lot of heart damage and scar tissue. Exactly what tests have they done to try and establish the problems and causes?

The defibrillator is basically an insurance policy, to keep you from dying in the event your heart goes into a lethal arrhythmia.  It is definitely possible for your heart to improve with medication.

What are the Doctors saying IS the cause? Nobody here can really say if things will improve unless the cause is known.
