my father has atrial fib and has had it for 17 yrs now he has a defib/ pacemaker and is 77 now and still active golfing and traveling. diet and exercise and take your meds and keep it under control longevity is no prob. but then again god only knows when its our time

If properly controlled it may not have any effect for longivity.  More important for longevity is healthy diet, regular exercise, etc. and heredity (family history).
