Exercise

I am 39 yrs old and have a bicuspid aorta.  I exercise regularly, and have completed a 1/2 marathon.  I called my cardiologist to see if it would be ok to participate in a triathlon.  (1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run)  The cardiologist responded that I should exercise as long as it was comfortable, but not to exert myself too much.  He advised me not to do the triathlon.  I have a stress echo done every year, and do very well.  In addition, I have no symptoms. My research does not seem to support what this physician recommends.  Any advice?

I won't advise, but a biscuspid aorta often is without symptoms and signs until the 40's age of the individuals.  If there is a bicuspid syndrome, strenuous activity is contraindicated.

Hello I have a biscupid arotic valve. My cardo said to me that Dont to much stenous excercise or excert your  heart to really hard work. In my case Mine wont let me. If i do to much I get like angnia pains ..I think it okay just do normal excerise but dont push your self to hard. Mind I am 10 years older than you I think with biscupid Aortic valve age plays a part.
