Fluid On The Lungs

A number of years ago now i had fluid on the lungs. I am Asthmatic and prone to chest infections. One time my GP came home to me because, i was coughing up blood stained frothy mucus and my lungs were itching and i was very breathless, i had swollen ankles and felt  terribly bloatedand my GP said i had fluid on the lungs, he treated me with directics. I have never had this happen to me since.Has anyone else had this and is this connected to heart problems at all. I have had an angygram about 5 years agao now and my results were clear...i'm pleased to say...Astra!

Yes, six years ago I had congested heart failure.  The congestion was fluid leakage into the lung tissues.  The heart was weak and more blood was coming into the heart than the heart was able to pump into circulation. Fluids leaked into the peripherals as well.  I wasn't coughing up blood, but lying down I had a choking sensation and dry coughing...thought is it was a lung problem but was shocked to hear I had had a heart attack.

I was in ICU for several days to restore the proper oxygen level, etc..
